In case you all didn’t see the big news in the camera world last week, Lytro.com revealed itself to the world and are producing the worlds first refocus-able camera. Say what??? It’s not a software trick, but is a hardware based technology that allows an image to be focused after an image has been taken. Called Lightfield photography, Lytro promises to release a fofocus-able camera in the near future. I’m happy to say I have been working with Lytro to produce some Lightfield images and I’m very excited where this technology can take the industry — There’s more under the hood than just refocusing. You can find the above image in a recent NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE, and yes you can click on the image there to refocus. I suggest to also click HERE to see Lytro’s Picture Gallery and to refocus more images. Cool Stuff!!
