The future of digital, and how you can NEVER take an out of focus picture again…….

In case you all didn’t see the big news in the camera world last week, revealed itself to the world and are producing the worlds first refocus-able camera.  Say what???  It’s not a software trick, but is a hardware based technology that allows an image to be focused after an image has been taken.  Called Lightfield photography, Lytro promises to release a fofocus-able camera in the near future.  I’m happy to say I have been working with Lytro to produce some Lightfield images and I’m very excited where this technology can take the industry — There’s more under the hood than just refocusing.  You can find the above image in a recent NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE, and yes you can click on the image there to refocus.  I suggest to also click HERE to see Lytro’s Picture Gallery and to refocus more images.  Cool Stuff!!
