We have been spending our first mornings for all three workshops at the Santa Cruz Arboretum. It’s a great place to start the groups to wrap their brains around toying with lighting and playing with subjects in different ways. Here is a sequence where I’m working with Bruce and Rene Lauer, dialing in some close-ups of a south african daisy. We had harsh morning light so we made it more pleasing by first creating a shadow over the subject and its background, then reflecting light back into the scene. The last image is the result.
