Ilford announces new photographic papers at photokina

Below is some info and links to the five new papers that Ilford announced.  I’m particularly interested in the Gold Mono Silk and the Gold Smooth Cotton.  And both look like they will be great for black and white work giving my other black and white paper favs a run for their money– Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 GSM and Fine Line Smooth Art Cotton.

I’ll order some up and will post my thoughts…..

From Ilford:

ILFORD have unveiled the latest inkjet papers to join its growing top-of-the-line range of award-winning GALERIE Prestige media.

Crafted to meet the needs of fine art professionals, the new line-up features surfaces that can stand up to any exacting artistic vision while ensuring vivid, archival-quality image rendition for portfolios, prints-for-sale, as well as gallery and museum-quality prints. All of the latest offerings will be on display throughout Photokina 2012 in the ILFORD stand located at Hall 6.1, Stand D.011.

GALERIE Prestige Gold Mono Silk

This paper has an acid-free and lignin-free fiber base which simulates the structure of a traditional silver halide product allowing photographers specializing in monochrome photography to achieve inkjet prints reminiscent of those they developed in a darkroom.

GALERIE Prestige Gold Cotton Smooth 330gsm &
GALERIE Prestige Gold Cotton Textured 330gsm

These new 100% cotton rag products feature a mould-made base from a traditional fine art paper mill. With no optical brighteners and the longevity, image stability and a matt surface required for the very best in fine art printing, Gold Cotton Smooth is offered as the perfect choice for crisp detail, while Gold Cotton Textured features a contoured surface for more creative expression.
